Coffee for writers, roasted the week you order it.
I write books between roasts, and the cup beside the page matters more than I would like to admit. The first paragraph of the day is usually written while the kettle is still ticking.
This is coffee for that hour. Roasted in my kitchen after you order it, rested a day, and sent to you with the smell still in the bag.

A cup that stays out of the way
For a long morning at the desk, the light roast as a pour-over is gentle and clear, and it does not tire the palate by the third cup. For the evening pages, the medium roast in a French press is slower and rounder.
Tell me what you brew with and I will grind for it, or take the whole beans and grind by hand, which is its own kind of pause.
How the coffee reaches you
I buy green arabica from one small farm in the coffee hills of Karnataka, a few kilos at a time. I roast it at home on a small drum roaster, in batches of a few hundred grams, after my day job. I roast your bag after you order it, so it leaves within days of the roast and not months.
You choose light, medium, or dark, or you tell me the notes you like and I roast toward them. You can have whole beans, or tell me your brewer and I will grind for it. A 250 g bag is ₹750 and a 500 g bag is ₹1,200, with free shipping in India.
Who you are buying from
I am one person with a roaster in my kitchen. There is no team, no cafe, and no warehouse. When you write to me about a grinder or a shot that came out sour, I am the one who writes back, and I have made the same mistakes at my own counter.
Questions people ask
How long does delivery take?
I roast after you order, let the beans settle for a day, and hand the bag to the courier. Most cities in India receive it within a week of the order.
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Free shipping in India on every bag, 250 g or 500 g.
Which roast should I start with?
If you are unsure, start with the medium roast. It works in a moka pot, a French press, a pour-over, and an espresso machine, and it forgives a grind that is a little off.
The shop has the three roasts and the custom roast. If you are not sure, write to me at chanda.sayonsom@gmail.com and tell me how you brew.
